Terms of Service
Effective date: April 13, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BlinkGo mobile application (the "App") and website at blinkgo.fit (the "Website"), operated by BlinkGo ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using BlinkGo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or Website.
What BlinkGo is
BlinkGo is a personal screen-time control app. It lets you choose which apps to block on your phone and requires you to complete a real blink — detected by your front camera — before those apps open. The friction of the blink pause is designed to interrupt automatic, mindless scrolling and help you use your phone more intentionally.
BlinkGo is a tool to support your habits. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. We make no guarantee that using BlinkGo will result in any specific reduction in screen time, improvement in focus, or other outcome.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use BlinkGo. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Your licence to use BlinkGo
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use BlinkGo on a device that you own or control, for your own non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the platform you downloaded it from (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
This licence does not give you any ownership rights in the App or its content. All intellectual property in BlinkGo — including the name, logo, code, design, and features — belongs to us.
Free tier & BlinkGo Premium
BlinkGo is free to download. The free tier allows you to block one app with full access to all core features including blink detection, difficulty levels, and streaks.
BlinkGo Premium unlocks the ability to block multiple apps and is available as an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The following applies to your subscription:
- Subscription pricing is shown in the App before you subscribe.
- Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
- We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a billing period, except where required by applicable law or platform policy.
Permissions the App requires
BlinkGo needs certain device permissions to work. Here is what we request and why:
- Camera — used only to detect your blink during a blink challenge. Camera frames are processed on-device in real time and are never saved or transmitted anywhere.
- Screen Time / FamilyControls (iOS) — used to block the apps you select using Apple's native Screen Time API. App selections are stored on-device by Apple's frameworks and are never sent to our servers.
- Accessibility Service (Android) — used to detect when a blocked app is opened and to display the blink challenge overlay. This permission does not allow us to read screen content, record keystrokes, or access data inside other apps.
You can revoke any permission from your device Settings at any time. This will disable the corresponding feature but will not affect other parts of the App.
Things you agree not to do
By using BlinkGo you agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Use the App for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent the blink-challenge or any other security or access-control mechanism in the App.
- Use the App to monitor, block, or control apps on a device you do not own or without the owner's explicit knowledge and consent.
- Distribute, sell, sublicense, or commercialise the App or any part of it.
Disclaimer of warranties
BlinkGo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will always be available, bug-free, or that it will meet your specific expectations.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BlinkGo and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill — arising out of your use of or inability to use the App or Website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Third-party platforms
BlinkGo is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your use of those platforms is subject to Apple's and Google's own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for. Apple and Google are not sponsors of, or responsible for, BlinkGo.
Termination
You can stop using BlinkGo at any time by uninstalling the App. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App without notice if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the product. If you have an active subscription, cancellation is handled through your App Store or Google Play account.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to binding arbitration or the jurisdiction of a competent court, as required by applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you through the App or via an app store update. Continuing to use BlinkGo after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
The latest version of these Terms is always available at blinkgo.fit/terms.
